Taking an Automated and Manual Blood Pressure Reading with the SunTech 247

Transcript

This tutorial demonstrates the versatility of the SunTech 247 with the capability to take either an automated or manual blood pressure measurement. The first clinical grade device to offer a manual stethoscope reading mode or Sphyg-Mode™, the SunTech 247 eliminates the need to switch the patient between the automated device and a mechanical gauge by providing automated inflation and a digital inflation rate display used much like a sphygmomanometer.

  • In this video, we will show you how to take an automated and manual blood pressure reading with the Suntech 247.
  • To start, press the button on the right side of the unit to turn the power on.
  • Once the unit is powered on, place the cuff around the upper arm
  • Make sure the arm is relaxed and supported and ask the patient to stay still and quiet
  • Now press the automatic button to start the measurement.
  • The cuff will begin inflating, and when it reaches an appropriate pressure, the cuff begins to deflate.
  • In about 30-45 seconds, your readings should appear.
  • To take a manual blood pressure reading, wrap the cuff snugly around the arm as shown and position the stethoscope.
  • Press and hold the manual button to inflate the cuff to the desired pressure and quickly release it to deflate the cuff.
  • When the measurement is determined, press the auto button to completely deflate the cuff if necessary.
