Overview

The patented Orbit-K™ blood pressure cuff is specifically designed for auscultatory blood pressure monitoring during cardiac stress and exercise testing. The Orbit-K features a stay-put sleeve made of lycra/nylon stretch material to keep the cuff in the proper position on the patient's arm during testing. By ensuring the cuff remains where it is applied, the blood pressure measurements will be more repeatable and reliable.

Orbit-K cuffs come standard with SunTech Medical®'s Tango®+ and Cycle™ blood pressure monitors, each designed to take BP measurements during high-motion cardiac stress and exercise testing.

Orbit-K cuffs are latex-free and PVC-free and feature easily removable bladders to aid in cleaning and disinfection. The cuffs are also designed in compliance with Council Directive 93/42/EEC Medical Devices Directive and adhere to the recommendations in the AAMI SP10:2002.

Product FAQs

Q. Why is it important to use the correct size cuff on my patients?
A. SunTech Medical Cuffs are designed to meet the AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) clinical standards for blood pressure cuffs. These standards were devised in order to ensure adequate pressure on the artery of the upper arm, which is necessary to produce an accurate blood pressure measurement. If a cuff is used on an arm larger than the specified range, the resulting reading will be falsely high. If a cuff is used on an arm that is smaller than the specified range, the resulting reading will be falsely low.
Q. How do I clean my cuffs?
A. To clean a SunTech BP Cuff, you can do either of the following:
  1. Remove the bladder and microphone from the shell. Machine wash the shell in warm water with a mild detergent (50-140°F or 10-60°C). Line dry the cuff.
  2. Use a medical grade mild disinfectant on the cuff. Afterwards, line dry.

Q. Why is it important to have No Latex and No PVC?
A. SunTech does not manufacture cuffs with latex due to the incidence of allergic rections to latex. The use of PVC has been addressed by the FDA and advised against. For more detailed information on this topic, please visit: http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/safety/dehp.html
