John Laurie

Chairman
John, formerly CEO of Newport Technology Group, is Chairman of several technology companies. He is a Director of Oxford Ventures Group, a shareholder in SunTech Medical. From 1987 to 1990 he was a Director of the Oxford Seedcorn Fund which raised two funds, then a subsidiary of Oxford Ventures Group. Previously he was Group Financial Controller of Oxford Instruments Group PLC, and also ran their Medical Division. Prior to that, John was a Managing Director of Potter Instruments Ltd. and Potter Data Systems Ltd. He is a Certified Accountant in the UK and has over 35 years experience in technology companies.

Russell Woolley

Chief Executive

Russell, Chief Executive of SunTech Medical Group Ltd, has been closely involved with the company for the last 13 years. During this time the company has grown to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of clinical grade blood pressure measurement products and technology. In addition to this involvement he is also currently a Non-Executive Director of NDSL Group Ltd, Synaptica Research and Working Pulse Ltd.  During his career he has held board level positions with ‘blue-chip’ multinational companies in finance, sales & marketing, and general management. As well as the UK and Europe, Russell has extensive work experience in the United States, and the Far East. In addition to medical devices, he has experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electronics, telecoms, automotive, IT and management consulting. Since 1994 he has focused his interests on developing and growing smaller, high technology companies.  In addition to his current interests he has at various stages over the last 15 years been involved in advisory/non-executive director positions in IT security, innovation centre management/public sector consulting, signage technology development and, in the ‘not for profit’ sector,  with nature conservation and education.  Russell has a degree in business administration from the University of Aston, Birmingham and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
